Month 1: December 20, 2011 → January 16, 2012

Mystical Numerology uses a 13-month calendar that begins on December 20 each year. The resulting 13 months are almost uniformly 28-day months in a non-leap year. We moved into Month 1 on Tuesday, December 20. It will last through Monday, January 16.
This month takes on the energy of the 1: Genesis, birth, the creative principle, potential, the beginnings of things.
Mystical: “1” represents the Creator, the “I AM,” absoluteness, the incomprehensible, zero-point energy, and undifferentiated pre-space. It is the archetypal world that exists beyond both space and time, but out of which the material world is born.
“1” is the supernatural world, out-of-body experiences, psychic energy, clairvoyance, channeling, second sight, gnosis and the ability to know without knowing how you know. This energy is closely linked to having a spiritual drive.
Practical: “1” is the Mother principle, the egg or ovum, the processes of genesis, planting, and birth. It also represents the newborn, sunrise, wonder, and the innocence of being childlike. By extension, the “1” represents the beginnings of things whether they are intangible like new ideas or goals, or tangible things such as newborn children, plants in their seed phase, new projects or ventures. It is the creative principle, the quality or originality, and the power to innovate and invent.
So, this is a good month to establish goals, start new projects, ventures or campaigns. It is a great time to innovate and give roots to new ideas.
“1” also represents the “self,” selfhood and those qualities liked to the self such as positive qualities of self-interest, self-regard and self-reliance. So, work on yourself this month. Remember, we change the world by changing ourselves.
Downside: The shadow side of the “1” energy is “Maya:” the sense-world phenomena that conceals the unity of absolute being – in other words, illusion. On a more practical level, “1”represents cataclysmic events which can totally reshape things and the wretchedness that can result, but also the self-inflicted kind. On a personal level, a “1” month puts strong-willed natures and self-interest center stage (which we are certainly seeing in the political arena).
Mayan Correspondence: In the Kiche Mayan tradition, this energy is called Batz. It is symbolized by the “Thread” that connects past, present and future. Batz is the start of life, infinite time, and unity. This sign symbolizes cosmic phenomena and original wisdom. Batz is the Creator of life and wisdom, and presides over the future.
The energy of Batz is a good time to put things in order or to begin planning a project. It is a good time for marriage, or to bring more harmony into relationship, partnership or business. It is also a good energy to solve family problems. It protects artists and is an auspicious time to say prayers for things to grow and prosper.
6 Universal Month
The Universal Month is calculated by adding the “1” Month to the “5” Year (2012 = 2+0+1+2 = 5).
Mystical: The mystical meaning of the “6” is the soul drinking light in order to embrace ancient wisdom. The energy of the “6” represents the personal part of you that reaches up with intention to embrace and work with the sacred. It brings heightened perception and a window to the collective consciousness. The “6” is the number of the shaman, prophet, and awakener.
Practical: On a practical level, the “6” is the number of causality and formative power. This translates into personal power, dynamism and making things happen. “6” is the number of discovery, and governs the questions, “How, who, why and why not?” It is the energy of change and favors those people who are originators and awakeners, influencers and trendsetters.
It is also the energy that deals with finding one’s place in the scheme of things. It is the people, the public, society, and social cohesion. A “6” month enhances the ability to influence people and relate with others, so it is no wonder that the political process is already in top gear going full throttle.
Philosophy, governing principles, laws, reward systems, and ethical principles all fall under the energy of the “6.” So, the current political debate over the underlying principles of the Republican party and capitalism, executive compensation, the ethics of “creative destruction” in business (e.g. venture capitalism vs. vulture capitalism) – all of these are in keeping with the energy of the month.
The “6” represents the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine. It is the number of relationships, emotional wellness, individual happiness, the sense of belonging, and lovemaking. In a “6” month, you are likely to feel more empathic and connected with others, and relationships will be up for review.
Downside: The “6” represents the often unseen shadow parts of things, the polarities between light and dark, and the imbalances in life and in our systems. It is the number of arrogance and cynicism, insecurity and indecision, self-destruction, procrastination and avoidance. The flip-side is volatile situations, revolutionary change, domination, avarice and dictatorial abuse.
Mayan Correspondence: “6” is called Ajmaq, the Lord of Forgiveness and Reconciliation. It also represents ancient wisdom that comes from the brain in communication with the Spirit Guides.
Any Ajmaq period is about forgiveness – forgiving others for their mistakes, and forgiving yourself for your mistakes. It is a good time to reconcile with others. It is also a good time to cure illnesses, defend the dispossessed, seek justice, and achieve harmony with Mother Earth.
