Month 2: January 17, 2011 → February 13, 2012

Mystical Numerology uses a 13-month calendar that begins on December 20 each year. The resulting 13 months are almost uniformly 28-day months in a non-leap year. We move into Month 2 on Tuesday, January 17. It will last through Monday, February 13.
This month takes on the energy and qualities of the 2, which include: global consciousness, Now – the pivotal moment, relationships & sponsorships, problem-solving, organizing power, personal justice and equality.
Mystical: On the Medicine Wheel, “2” is the number that connects the G_d-Source (center) with physical awareness and the material world (west). It is the energy that defines perceptual reality and is the womb for all potential possibilities. It is the step at which the “self” enters perceptual reality and becomes self-aware but still has access to perfect knowing. It represents the ancient mysteries, mystical experience and connection with global consciousness. It is the pivotal “now” moment that anchors both past and future.
Practical: The “2” is the number of conscious intention, intellectual effort, observation and concentration. It is the masculine energy of the problem-solver, of quiet determination and organizing power, the need to acquire and own things, and have possessions. So, it is a good month to apply your mind, get organized and solve problems.
On a collective level, “2” is the number of equilibrium, collective consent, unselfishness and is the cooperative social glue that holds things together. It is the realm of human relationships and the desire to create equilibrium, the need to share with others. It is about steadfastness and sponsorship. Expect the issue of relationships to be center stage, and – especially in the political arena – the issue of sponsorships.
The “2” also represents the need to acquire and own things and have possessions. This, in turn, is connected with the need to set boundaries, have security, and the desire for personal justice and equality. Expect justice and equality to be in the spotlight.
Downside: Perceptual reality is woven on the loom of duality. All numbers have both positive and negative/shadow qualities. As much as the positive side of the “2” is about relationship and how our individual lives interpenetrate with others, the shadow side of the “2” is characterized by alienation, rootlessness, loneliness, self-pity and paralysis. The positive side looks like calm concentration, but the flip-side is irrational impulses, rambunctiousness and the mob mentality. It is the number of the adversary, and is represented by friction, invasiveness, social stress, and religious fanaticism.
Together with intolerance, judgmentalism and need for control highlighted below in the “7” Universal Month energy, we can expect a fiery political process in the coming 28-day period. Let’s hope our leaders can keep the lid on things.
Mayan Correspondence: “2” is called “E” (pronounced “Eh”), and represents the spiritual path or sacred way. It is the second step in creation, creative action, where the infinite path of time finds a space in which to manifest. It is the path of destiny, the path that a person walks, and the road of life. “E” is the energy of travel, and of facilitators and bringers of news.
7 Universal Month
The Universal Month is calculated by adding the “2” Month to the “5” Year: 2 + 2+0+1+2 = 7).
Mystical: “7” is the number that connects the mind (east) with the Source (center), and so is like a gateway to universal wisdom and infinite potential, especially since “Mind is the builder,” as Edgar Cayce used to say. In Jewish Mysticism, “7” represents the Shekhinah, or feminine face of God. It is the number of humanity but also of heaven, suggesting that heaven really is within us. It is the number of the mystic, oracle, muse, and messenger.
Practical: The “7” energy gives the urge to find the “truth,” and know how the world really works. It represents the quest for fundamental knowledge and the one who ultimately becomes the expert or authority in their chosen field. By extension, it also represents authority figures.
A quest for knowledge is necessarily linked to a passion for knowing, and frequently with a drive to achieve and the ability to inspire others, and to initiate new projects and ideas. The “7” energy also is the number of the idealist, conscience, and moral awareness. The high side of this is also the need to give which is actually a stronger urge in humanity than the need to dominate or control (scientists have recently proven this).
The point is that in a “7” month passion and idealism will be front and center. The “7” energy can prompt individuals and groups to crusade for their beliefs. So, as one person’s ideals are often in direct conflict with someone else’s (e.g. a woman’s right to an abortion vs. the right-to-life, and so on), this is a period when we can expect fireworks in the political arena – especially since the “7” is also about tolerance, judgment and control. We can expect the flip side to appear: intolerant, judgmental and controlling behaviors and actions.
The “7” energy can also cause people to be overzealous in their work, so take care this month that you don’t overdo it. There is a danger of burnout. The “7” energy can prompt you to be quite linear, logical and precise which is great in some cases. But, it can also lead you to be over-controlling, and forget to allow joy and spontaneity into your life.
The softer side of the “7” month is about the contemplative life, and is a good time to be introspective. Indeed, you may find yourself feeling introverted at times and drawn inwards toward periods of contemplation. If this happens for you, recognize that you are probably preparing for the next growth spurt, like going into the chrysalis waiting to be reborn as a butterfly. It is important to periodically stop, and take time for rest, relaxation, recreation and rejuvenation. In fact, to maintain your balance, you may need space to think and recharge – especially during this period. But remember that sometimes, recharging your personal batteries looks like having an adventure, and being carefree and playful!
The “7” is the number of study and the ability to learn, so it is a good time to improve your mind or seek the out the fundamental truth in things.
Downside: The shadow side of the “7” comes from a lack of trust in yourself and others, and trust in life itself. It can look like obstacles on your path, energy blockages in your body, a broken heart, feeling inadequate or inferior, being overly fussy or absent-minded and unaware, feeling turned-off or being just plain uncaring. These things can combine in various ways to cause psychic distress and often result in protective behaviors. These can include irritability, feeling envious, losing your temper, being directive and controlling, being divisive, and challenging authority figures and authority, in general. Alternately, it can result in disappointment, apathy, laziness and fatigue.
The cure for the shadow side is learning trust, and lightening up by developing a sense of joy in life. In fact, a very good practice during this period is to start the day by filling yourself as much as possible with joy. Try it. It works!
Mayan Correspondence: “7” is called “Noj.” It represents knowledge and wisdom that comes from the universe and the Earth. It is the energy of telepathy and “knowing” without consciously knowing how you know.
This is a very good period for nourishing the mind, improving the memory, and turning knowledge and experience into wisdom. It is a good time to seek harmony in your relationships. It is also a good period to strengthen your inner knowing. A good practice during Noj periods is to ask yourself questions, and then listen to your inner guidance for answers. You might even do this as part of a journaling process.
