First Letter / Mayan Connection

(Note: if the 1st letter of your name is a Vowel, read the post on First Vowels)

numerology backgroundThe first letter is like the “rising sign” in astrology. It gives insight into how people see you, your outer personality. If the first letter is a vowel, it adds extra emphasis to the meaning of the “First Vowel” as described above. If the first letter is a consonant, the personality is linked with the energy of a Mayan Day Lord (using the Quiche Mayan system for our purposes). This is because there are 20 consonants in the English language, and 20 Day Lords in the Mayan Spiritual Calendar. They are linked. Each consonant has a correlation with one of these “Day Lord” energies, as follows:

First Letter (B/1): “Batz” – the thread of life. As a quality, “B/1” is the connection with the thread of life and how it unwinds over time. This connection brings an inner sense of unity consciousness and intuitive knowing – often without knowing how you know. It is a feminine energy. In women, particularly, this energy also brings a strong “mother instinct.” But, regardless of gender, it brings an intimate connection with the creative, birth-potential that deals not only with giving birth to children, but also to new ideas, projects, and even movements. Relating to how others see you: the “B” is connected to issues of individuality. The “1” either has a strong sense of individuality, or goes through a struggle to find it.

First Letter (C/2): “E” – Destiny. “C/2” is the connection between the center/Source and the West. It is the number of perceptual reality, equality and equilibrium. It brings the qualities of reflection, and self-awareness, the ability to observe, be analytical and the power of concentration. It is a masculine energy and often brings the ability to be a problem-solver. It is the energy to acquire things and have possessions. It is also about security and establishing appropriate boundaries.

First Letter (D/3): “Aj” – Power. “D/3” is the number on the Medicine Wheel that connects the Center/Source with the South or emotional/relationship realm. The “3” is also the number of energy, ideas, expansion and movement, art and science. It is the energy of language, and the ability to carry and convey information. The D/3 is a connection with the collective consciousness and the origin or root of things. With “D/3” as a first letter, movement is important for you to stay centered and also for connecting with the Divine. People with D/3 as the first letter are often inclined to get into action and “do” things.

First Letter (F/4): “Ix” – the Earth.  “F/4” is the connection between the Center/Source with the mind. Even though the Mayan Day Lord, “Ix”, is about the Earth and the manifested world, this is because the “mind is the builder.” Thoughts are things, and it is from your thoughts that the physical world manifests and unfolds. “F/4” is masculine and cerebral. It is the energy of reason, order, the factual, and is the ability to analyze and measure things. It is also the energy of work, the ability to produce and compete. It tends to make a person practical and service-oriented. The “F/4” is also the energy of freedom, liberty, honor and justice. On the downside, it also manifests as a tendency to fight and conquer.

First Letter (G/5): “Tzikin” – the Birds. The “G/5” connects the Spiritual dimension of life (North) with the Emotional (South). The energy is like Spirit reaching down and enfolding your heart and opening you up to insight in a way that may not be entirely volitional. The energy is feminine. It is Nature, the Goddess, and the energy of mysticism and epiphany. It is also the energy of education, thought, words, the ability to journal and be a scribe. It brings balance on the positive side, but also chaos and flux on the other side. The “G/5” as a first letter probably gives you an outgoing personality, and perhaps an imaginative or creative flair. You might be seen as fairly passionate about your beliefs.

First Letter (H/6): “Aqmaq” – Forgiveness and Reconciliation. The “6” is the number of the people and relationships. It is the connection between the South and the North on the Medicine wheel. In other words, it is the personal, emotional place of relationships connecting with the spiritual and intuitive realms – and is like a stepladder to the infinite. As such, it is the energy of the soul, the “awakener” and the mentor. The “6” is the number of philosophy and poetry, but also of polarity and placement (finding your place in the world).

First Letter (J/7): “Noj” – Knowing. “J/7” is the energy of heaven, oneness, and the mystic. It gives the power of spiritual sight and visions. The “7” connects the mental/east with the Source, and is the number of knowledge, introspection, innocence and teachability. So, visions and knowledge are very likely important to you. With “J/7” as the first letter, it is important to listen to your inner guidance and make a commitment to follow the insights that are given. “J/7” is the messenger. The “J/7” energy as a first vowel suggests telepathic ability, as well as the ability to read both the past and future. On the other hand, there are both earthy and linear sides to the “J/7”, as well. It is the number of humanity, individuality, sex and sexuality. It can give the ability to connect with people and be a guide, a leader and a way-shower. 8 is also the number of love, so the K/8 can make you a romantic. The deeper lessons for the “8” include dealing with control issues, and learning to live more spontaneously in the quest for spiritual enlightenment. The key is to learn to “let go” and allow a Higher Power to guide you and work through you.

First Letter (L/9): “Kawoq” – Community. The first letter is like the “rising sign” in astrology. It gives insight into how people see you, your outer personality. “L” is the power of ascending light, the power of lifting up. And “9” is connected with the Mayan Day Lord, Kawoq, which stands for the community. So, “L/9” as a first letter gives you the power to connect with others and the community at large and lift them up because of your personal ascending light. “L/9” is also the connection of the body and physical awareness with the Source. It is also connected with government in its purest form of serving the needs of the people. The “P/12” is the minister, priest, and the ability to lead or be a chief.
