2012 Overview

Posted by mysticnumbers on December 27, 2011

2012

As a species of life, you are poised at that moment when you are required to make a leap of faith. ~Barbara Marciniak~ (from her 1995 book, Earth)

The year 2012 has been much in the general consciousness lately. Hundreds of articles have been written discussing Mayan Prophecies. There’s been considerable speculation about the possibility of coming disasters. Some even fear the end of the world. Others believe that the 2012 Winter Solstice will usher in a new golden age of awakened consciousness, like flipping a switch on December 21. While the hype is great for marketing movies and selling books, the truth may be more complicated.

The truth is that nobody really knows for sure what will happen, not even the Mayans. Yet, it is clear that there is an acceleration taking place – and that is one of the predictions of the Mayan elders. Time and events are speeding up, our DNA is vibrating faster, and change is everywhere we look.

In 1997, Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj, primary keeper of the teachings, visions and prophecies of the Mayan people, told my wife, Jeanne White Eagle, and me that 2002 would mark the beginning of the “time of terror,” anticipating by almost five years the events of 9/11/2001. He also said that the five-year period from 2007-2012 would be what he called the “difficult times.” This period would be marked not only by economic hardship but also by the marked increase in the frequency and intensity of storms, earthquakes and volcanoes, and by a general acceleration in the pace of life. He said that by the end of 2010, it would be clear to all who were even remotely aware that something was changing.

When asked about 2012, it was clear that Don Alejandro knew that the world wasn’t coming to an end. It was his hope that people would “wake up” and become more spiritually aware, that they would begin to shift their lifestyles away from mass consumerism to something more holistic and environmentally responsible and sustainable, and that we would learn to get along with one another.

While it does seem that more and more people are experiencing an awakening, it is also clear that we haven’t reached a critical mass yet. I believe that the underlying purpose for the earth changes, economic hardships, and natural disasters is to move us collectively to an awakening point.

We are in the birth canal experiencing the convulsions and chaos of a new age being born – and we have been for some time. There is always a reaction to a new energy entering in. As things change, people feel threatened and lock down into fear. This is especially true for the power-brokers and wealthy elite who have so much invested in the status quo. This causes polarization, unrest and gridlock, exactly what we are seeing around the world.

So, while the contractions of the birth process of a new age have already begun, they will very likely continue on past 2012. In fact, December 21, 2012 may be less about flipping a switch from “off” to “on” than turning the rheostat of a dimmer switch up a notch or two.

As the vibration of the planet continues to increase, those who act from compassion, love, understanding and unity consciousness will flourish and thrive because they are in harmony with the new energy. Those who act from anger, fear, control, and domination will have more and more difficulty because their actions are out of phase with the new energy – and because the positive energy is far more powerful than the negative.

Indeed, the changes that are happening will eventually lead to a “tipping point” when there is a critical mass of people who wake up to the fact that they no longer have to continue to support a power structure and the systems that don’t have their best individual or collective interests at heart. But, this may take until the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014.

In this coming year, we are being asked to take a look at the tension between dark and light, love and fear that exist within us, recognizing that our own consciousness affects the reality around us. As we heal ourselves we help heal the world.

Let’s take a closer look at 2012 and explore the possibilities.

2012 as a “5” Year

2012 is the end of a 5125-year cycle called the “Great Sun Cycle.” This very precise cycle of 1,872,000 days ends with the winter solstice on December 21, 2012 when the Earth crosses the ecliptic and aligns with the central sun of our Milky Way Galaxy. 2012 is also the end of a 12,960-year cycle of masculine polarity, and a longer 25,920-year cycle called the axial precession of the equinoxes during which the earth moves through all of the 12 zodiac signs (such as the current “Age of Aquarius”).

In essence, we are returning to the same area in space that the earth traversed at the beginning of this long cycle almost 26,000 years ago, and this is like taking a turn upwards on the spiral of life. Some researchers say that we are passing through a high-energy sector and that supports a shift in consciousness, maybe even a dimensional shift. Whatever happens, it is clear that 2012 offers us the opportunity to recreate ourselves and step fully into our spiritual power.

If we look at 2012 from the standpoint of Mystical Numerology, it may help to understand what to expect. At the macro level, the Universal Year or overall umbrella energy for 2012 is a “5” (2+0+1+2 = 5). “5” years embody the connection between the infinite, spiritual dimension and the personal, emotional dimension of life. It brings a connection with ancestral spirits. Spirit reaches down to touch our hearts and infuse us with knowing. It is the Goddess energy of the feminine archetype. It brings the power to conceive and create. It is the energy of desire and fertility, and the caring energy of friends and family. It puts the land and nature in the spotlight.

The “5” year activates divine longing, teachability, education, and inquisitiveness. It is the dynamic verb-reality that emphasizes the flow of energy and freedom, and the drive to seek the answers to life’s fundamental questions. Balance and harmony arise from movement, play and laughter. It is very expansive and can be hard to handle, akin to drinking light from a cosmic fire hose.

In a “5” year, Spirit is in charge, sending visions and insights, and shaking up our lives and our reality by breaking down whatever blocks the flow of life’s energy. The pineal gland or “third eye,” located in the center of the head, is also a “5″ energy. So, perhaps, 2012 is the year that it becomes more fully activated as a step leading to a general awakening.

The “5” energy wants freedom, change and spontaneity. It doesn’t like limitations or boundaries. This year is about finding a new sense of sustainable freedom that will take us fully into the 21st century, and leaving behind whatever no longer serves us as individuals, communities and societies.

The “5” is also about learning the power of a focused intention to create whatever inspires us. In the Jewish Kabbalah, “5” is considered the number of understanding. In a “5” year, ancient wisdom connects with us at a heart level and we have the ability grasp deep insights. The kind of knowing that results gives the ability to shape ideas, projects, and life events through the power of imagination and intention.

Personal and collective balance this year comes from cultivating the freedom to create, and to pursue the beauty of life. Artistic endeavors, music, creativity, and play, and the powerful energy of sex and sexuality are all possible ways to strengthen the spiritual—emotional connection and stay in balance. … [Note: In the last “5” year (2003), Gay Rights was a hot topic when the Supreme Court of Massachusetts ruled that gay couples had the right to marry.]

Women’s rights, gay rights, race relations are all highlighted this year.

Downside: Obstacles to the flow of energy this year create chaos, restlessness or lethargy, obsessiveness, and denial. Karmic issues arise. The “ego-mind” wants to reassert control but is not in charge. It is the year of the Apocalypse (a “5” energy). Pain and grief can result. Racism and war are manifestations of the shadow side.

Mayan Correspondence: The “5” is called “Tzikin,” the “Birds” who are considered the intermediaries with the spirit realm and higher consciousness. The energy of this year is about the flow of abundance and prosperity, and the richness and treasures of the Earth – or what may be blocking them.

2012 is also the 12th year of the new century, so it also carries aspects of the “12.”

“12” is a visionary energy, and supports people who are pathfinders. So, especially in conjunction with the “5” energy of innovation and creativity, expect new discoveries that help to redefine how we look at reality – including the concepts of time and matter, and reality as something more malleable than we’ve been previously taught. … “Free Energy” is also a “12″ vibration, so maybe we will learn more about some of the free energy devices that have already been developed. …

On a practical level, expect new developments in computers and connectivity: even more capable tablets and e-book readers (as well as cheap ones), high-definition phones, and the like. Technologies that increase our level of connectivity are, I believe, an intermediate phase moving us collectively toward a global mind-link and telepathic capability.

Extraterrestrial is also a “12″ vibration. In his well-researched book, Source Field Investigations, David Wilcock reveals evidence pointing to December 21, 2012 as the date when the entire world will finally be aware that we are not alone in the universe but have extraterrestrial relatives.

On a very practical level, the “12” energy supports achievers and people who are able to help shape things on a large scale – even through small beginnings and from behind the scenes at a grassroots level. It’s helpful to remember that each action you take has an effect for seven generations (140-150 years). So, small shifts and innovations in the present can result in big changes in the future.

The “12” is the energy of woman and women, and is procreative and strong. The polarity of the planet has shifted from masculine to feminine, and this is the year of the woman. Expect more and more women to be in the spotlight, and be movers and shakers in shifting our worldview.

The “12” is also the energy of “service” to others. So, therapists and those in helping professions will likely feel uplifted and energized, and may be very busy! It is a year to pay your blessings forward.

Downside: The “12” energy often shakes things up. It is an explosive energy. The negative aspects for this year can look like sudden and unexpected trials. Governments, financial systems and institutions will continue to be destabilized. And, very likely, the intense and unusual weather patterns will be with us throughout 2012, as will natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes, and wildfires.

2012 is a year that fosters absolutism and extremism. It is a year when people who are shallow and inept take center stage or may cross your path. All of your self-doubts may come up to be addressed. If you find that you have a tendency to be a workaholic during this period, it may be a way to avoid looking deeply inward.

Mayan Correspondence: “12” is called “Iq,” the Wind, the Breath of the Creator, and the air that we breathe. It is inspiration, and the principle of vitality that gives life and intuition. But, its energy often shakes things up.

2011 Overview

Posted by mysticnumbers on April 17, 2011

2011

The years 2011 and 2012 are watershed years, a “breakpoint in time.” They represent the passing of an age, and the dawning of a new level of consciousness. It is an exciting time to be alive.

At the macro level, the “Universal Year” or overall umbrella energy for 2011 is a “4” (2+0+1+1 = 4). When a “4” year rolls around, it is time to make practical decisions. It is time to get to work to put things back on-track and accomplish something practical.

The “4” represents commitment, discipline, effort, practicality, reason, order and organization. The “4” urges us to apply our minds to build something tangible in the practical world. It teaches the lesson of working with the power of expectations in a disciplined way to accomplish desired goals. And, it often involves learning to overcome obstacles. Its energy helps you to be organized, thorough, composed and direct.

It is also the energy of freedom, liberty, and justice that is sweeping across not only the Arab world with the wave of protests, revolutions and civil wars, but also in the Ivory Coast, South Sudan, and in less dramatic ways even in the United States.

On a spiritual level, “4” is the connection between the mental realm and the Source of all things. It represents the universal energy field, pure consciousness and higher intellectual faculties. It is the number of “seeing” and “healing,” and the power to forgive. It is also service, and the power to ascend by giving or ourselves and our talents to help others.

The downside of the “4” stems from feeling insecure and unloved. People become fearful and paranoid. The need arises to dominate, and to fight and conquer others. Cunning, deceit and betrayal become part of the energy. It can spark wide-spread cynicism, as well as a tendency toward jealousy and/or possessiveness. It is a wicked mix. The antidote is heart-centered: forgiveness, love and joy.

Mayan Correspondence: The “4” is “Ix” which is the “Earth Mother,” her sacred sites and the guardians of those sacred sites. The totem animal is the Jaguar. This aspect of the “4” is about keeping things secure and safe.

Secondary energy: 2011 is also the 11th year of the new century, and it also carries aspects of the “11” such as: inspiration, intuitive guidance, and unexpected events. The high energy of the “11″ can make you feel like being plugged into an electrical socket. Sometimes, the “11” energy is experienced like being dragged forward kicking and screaming into your/our destiny. The result may be positive in the long run, but it may be an adventurous, roller-coaster of a ride that’s not always a lot of fun.

The positive side of the “11” brings a future-orientation. It is the energy of the trailblazer, change agent and reformer who helps to shape events. It is action-oriented, and is the number of strength, resilience, manifestation and collective outcomes. It supports connecting with others, deepening relationships, and reaching out to others. It is compassion, giving and volunteerism. It is also the power of working with sound. It gives musicians added energy and inspiration. Healers can work more effectively by incorporating sound this year. The power of your own song can shift things this year.

At a spiritual level, the “11” is number of the avatar and intuitive consciousness. All throughout this year, you may find that your natural intuitive abilities are stronger and more present.

This is a year when personal freedom for you and individual freedom for others is highlighted. In the long run, this is a good thing since it provides forward acceleration along the path of life. It is not a time for timidity or for sitting on the fence as an idle onlooker.

“11″ is the number of statehood, so it has been very interesting watching  the Arab Spring uprisings that are transforming and shaking things up in the Middle East, most notably in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Syria. … Note added 22-September: The world also gained another nation state this year with South Sudan. And, despite frantic diplomatic efforts on the part of the U.S., Europe and Israel to convince them that direct negotiations are the only path to their goal, the Palestinians are also petitioning the United Nations for statehood.

Other “11″ energies in the realm of government, politics and the economy include: political power, political leaders, power plays, domestic affairs, public policy, monetary policy, material advancement vs. financial crisis, cost-cutting, republicanism, social responsibility vs. pro-business policies, business leaders, human rights, democratization, the United Nations and issues affecting world civilization. Watch for some or all of these to be in the news this year.

The shadow side of the “11” shatters things and creates discontinuities. It foments revolts and the collapse of governments and existing structures. Materialism, power games, and terrorism are at their peak during this year, as are self-centeredness and superficiality … just as the pendulum gets ready to swing the other way. The result can be a mixture of powerlessness, angst, foreboding, and pessimism. You can begin to wonder if everything is just pointless. Or, what you can possibly do in the face of such forces.

The truth is that you can do a lot! And together, we can do more. We can be beacons of love and compassion who can shift outcomes and prophecies through our combined love and light.

Don Alejandro’s Message: Back in 1997, my wife, Jeanne White Eagle, spent a month in Guatemala with a Mayan elder and priest, Don Alejandro Cirilo Perez Oxlaj. He said that there would com a time when change would become so accelerated and intense, and that storms, earthquakes and other earth changes would occur so frequently that even the most unaware would have to wake up and see that something is really going on. His message, even then, was, “Wake up! Wake up! It is time for the sleepers to awake and remember!”

If you don’t think that something dramatic and new is already going on, here are just a sampling of the things that have happened in 2011:

  • Biblical-scale flooding in Australia affecting an area larger than Germany and France combined, and destroying some 35,000 homes;
  • The worst flooding & mudslides in Brazil in at least 40 years;
  • Mudslides in the Los Angeles area of the U.S.;

  • 100 ton fish kill in the coastal waters of Brazil;
  • 40,000 crabs washing ashore in the UK (January 6);
  • Four previously abundant species of bumblebee are close to disappearing in the U.S.;
  • Massive snow storms in the U.S. and Europe that shut down airports and strangled transportation; 49 of the 50 U.S. states have snow on the ground (Jan 11);
  • Magnitude 7.0 earthquake in Santiago del Estero, Argentina (Jan 1);
  • 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Araucania, Chile (Jan 2);
  • 6.6 magnitude earthquake in Vanatu in the South Pacific (Jan 9);
  • 7.6 magnitude earthquake in the Loyalty Islands region of South Pacific (Jan 13);
  • 9.0 magnitude earthquake in northern Japan and resulting tsunami cause extensive loss of life, and trigger a nuclear disaster.
  • Mount Etna in Sicily erupts (Jan 13) – the result of recent seismic activity;
  • Governor of Punjab Province in Pakistan assassinated for his progressive religious views (Jan 4);
  • Gunman in Tucson, Arizona kills 6 people including a federal judge and a 9 year-old girl, and wounds 14 others (Jan 8);
  • Iran Air flight 277 with 104 passengers crashes in northwest Iran, killing 77;
  • Flooding in Baluchistan, Pakistan leave 166,000 homeless (Feb-Mar, 2011)
  • Flooding in Thailand affects 2,000,000 people (March 2011)
  • Flooding in Colombia, South America kills 93 and leaves 109,000 homeless (April 2011).
  • Flooding of the Mississippi River and its tributaries is the worst since 1927 (May 2011).
  • Over 600 tornadoes touched down in the U.S. in April alone, 172 of them over just a two-day period (April 27-28) killing over 300 people.
  • A massive EF-5 tornado tore a 6-mile path across southwestern Missouri kills at least 139 people as it slammed into the city of Joplin, Missouri (May 2011).
  • The eruption of Grímsvötn, Iceland’s most active volcano, is believed to be far more powerful than that of Eyjafjallajökull last year (May 2011).
  • Hurricane Irene causes major flooding in the northeastern U.S. states of New Jersey, New York and Vermont (August 2011).
  • Sparked by the first protests that occurred in Tunisia, a wave of unrest struck Algeria, Jordan, Egypt and Yemen, then spread to other Arab countries such as Syria and Bahrain. As of September 2011, revolutions have resulted in the overthrow of three heads of state: Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled to Saudi Arabia on 14 January following the   Tunisian revolution protests, and in Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak resigned on 11 February 2011, after 18 days of massive protests, ending his 30-year presidency. And Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi was overthrown on 23 August 2011, after the National Transitional Council took control. Also, the Palestinians have petitioned the United Nations for statehood.

    2011 has been an interesting, high-energy year, for sure!

2010 Overview

Posted by mysticnumbers on January 1, 2010

2010

At the macro level, the Universal Year or overall umbrella energy for 2010 is a “3” (2+0+1+0 = 3). “3” years are about movement and roots. I expect that there will be an overall sense of acceleration in 2010. Changes made and programs implemented in 2009 begin to take root and slowly pull the economy out of the abyss. Art and science will be in the news. New pioneering approaches to a broad spectrum of things will be discussed and will be fertile areas of growth. These may include: global warming, environmental technologies, technologies for clean water, health care, genetic research, transportation and the automotive industry (electric hybrids, hydrogen fuel), computer & communication technologies - including the way we read books & magazines (e.g., Amazon’s Kindle and Barnes & Noble’s Nook).

2010 is also the 10th year of the new century, so it also carries aspects of the “10.” This is about stopping, gaining clarity, integrating lessons learned and stepping up to a higher level of service and mastery – at a collective level. A key question, then, is “Have we learned what we’ve needed to learn?” There is a general awakening taking place, but it hasn’t reached critical mass yet. So, I’m fairly certain that there will be more lessons on the way that will force people off the fence. They will either have to choose to wake up, or to lock down into fear. I’m not sure how these new lessons will manifest but a couple of possibilities come to mind.

It is possible that the economy continues to slowly improve but unemployment remains high during the year. High unemployment leads to widespread disenfranchisement, anger and even demonstrations like we used to see back in the 60s and early 70s. If something unforeseen happens such as a severe natural disaster such as a hurricane, earthquake, flooding, etc (have you noticed that storms are getting bigger?), or a major Taliban or al Qaeda-inspired attack on an American city, or the assassination of a top American politician – something seemingly improbable – it will act as tinder for another meltdown. I hope that this does not happen, and certainly don’t want to be a purveyor of doom and gloom. But, later in the year as we approach 2011, something unexpected is a possibility.

The best way to protect against this is a little contingency planning. Expect the unexpected to occur. Events are likely to unfold in unpredictable ways. So, ask yourself, “Are there things that make sense for me to do now to protect myself from this possibility?” At the very least, this might include not over-extending yourself.

Periods that have a higher probability of dramatic change occurring include (both from a numerological and astrological standpoint):

  • January 16 – February 13
  • June 6 – August 1
  • October 25 – December 19

Flexibility will be an important asset during this time. It is possible that reality may shift rapidly and it may feel like you are a surfer riding a massive wave. If you maintain your balance, you can ride the wave and experience transformation.

A general awakening is taking place. It will affect all of us in different ways. Something new is being born. The outer chaos we see in the world is akin to the contractions that push the baby through the birth canal. But, we are all part of this process of birth and genesis. We can assist the process by choosing to walk a spiritual path, or we can go into resistance. The choice is ours, but it will have a great deal to do with the quality of our experience in the coming year.

The events of 2010 may test your attachments and ability to change in the moment. It is a year of outcomes when some things come to an end so that you can step up to a higher level of wisdom and service. In this process, you may find that your relationships will change, you may lose someone you love, your job or vocation may change, or you might move to a different location. New ideas, projects or ventures may take you in a different direction. The way you see yourself, your family, your community and the world may shift. You may have the opportunity to reinvent yourself this year. But, this is something that is not always comfortable. So, you will need to take good care of yourself through diet and exercise. A healthy and uplifting mental diet of inspiration is also helpful. Practicing gratitude and prayers of thankfulness is also beneficial. Finding a spiritual discipline may also be important in helping you to ride the wave of energy this year.

However this year unfolds, it’s going to be exciting!

The “11″ energy of 2009

Posted by mysticnumbers on August 17, 2009

2009 is an “11″ energy (2+0+0+9 = 11). “11″ is a “Master Number.” It is a high-energy year. It’s energy brings new inspiration into the practical, everyday, real world. It also brings sudden changes and unexpected events. The “11″ energy pulls us forward into our collective destiny as if being dragged over a cliff kicking and screaming. All you have to do is to look around at the events of this year to see that this is true.

On a deeper level, there are two sides: to the “11″ energy – as highlighted by the following Key Words:

(+) Seer, Healer, Teacher … Limitless, Universal Love, Now … Shaper, Trailblazer … Change Agent, Reformer … Connector, Outreach … Sound, Musician … Imagery, Non-Linear … Guided, Unbidden … Feeling … Strength … Action … Manifestation … Famous.

(-) Shattering, Freakish, Materialism … Excitable, Impractical … Dominating, Elitist … Self-Indulgent, Naughty … Superficial, Neglectful … Foreboding, Pessimist … Adversity … Impotent, Inadequacy, Self-Pity … Passionless … Imitator, Loser, Dependent.

The “11” connects the Center with the Up Above, and is the connection with Cosmic Law, the Logos. When the Christian Bible says, “In beginning was the word …” that is the first sound from which all was created. This is the “11,” and it is why it is also the number of manifestation.

“11” is the number of the Seer, Inspirer, Light-Bearer, Healer and Connector. “11” years bring the wisdom carriers in our society into the forefront, and they may not be the ones that you expect. The “11” embodies inspiration in a way that it can be brought to the people. It is not an easy energy to handle. With the “11” energy, the old may get shaken up and even shattered to make way for the new. It can bring unexpected events that can be totally life-changing. When/if this happens, it’s a good bet that Life is knocking us off our collective feet to teach us something important.

More than in other years, we are being given an opportunity in this 2009/11 year to “wake up” as the energy and frequency of the planet is being raised. You will see that people are indeed waking up. Or, they are locking down into fear and doing whatever they can to block the new awareness that is available to them.

Note: “Obama” is also an “11″ name. It’s no surprise that he took office in an “11″ year!

All numbers have both positive sides, and negative or shadow sides. With the “11,” the downside can be deep, as the key-words above suggest. The “11” energy can bring in an excitable, impractical, superficial and self-indulgent energy – just look at the debates over Health Care Reform!

An “11” year can create a sense of foreboding or pessimism. Alternately, it can manifest as righteous and/or elitist feelings and actions. Either of these polarizing strategies -pessimism and foreboding, or righteous indignation - are ways to lock down into fear and denial, and to insulate a person or group of people from receiving higher energy and guidance. … And you don’t have to look far to see that it is happening. Just watch the news.

 Mayan Correspondence: “11” is called “Imox,” the energy of the “Seer.”
