Month 13, 2012: November 21 → December 19

Posted by mysticnumbers on November 21, 2012

Mystical Numerology uses a 13-month calendar that begins on December 20 each year. The resulting 13 months are almost uniformly 28-day months. On this calendar, Month 13 begins November 21 lasts through December 19.

[…The beautiful picture used here is by Andrew Stuart…]

The energy of this 28-day period is about: Life, Community, Social Harmony, Civil Courage … The Will to Connect … Middle Ground, Need to Agree … Giving Back, Selfless Service … Hope, Planting Seeds, Ideas … Builders, Expertise, Readiness … Persistence, Goal-Oriented  … Choice Points, Inner Work, Personal Change … Paradigm Shifts.

This month favors: Advisors, Experts and Facilitators … Joint Solutions … Networks, Grassroots Efforts, Volunteers … Catalysts for Change, Being Bold, Dynamism … Builders … Success, Wealth.

Watch out for: Fear, Stubbornness … Confrontations, Meltdowns … Human Greed, Selfishness … Wrongdoing, Lawsuits … Codependent Relationships … Disorder, Cultural Upheaval, Revolution … Fanaticism & Fear-Mongering … Issues around Mass Poverty.

Month 13

The “13” month is a time of endings and beginnings. Like the “12” it is a good time for change. But, the “13” is more volitional and less potentially explosive. It is about coming to a choice point. A personal change is necessary and inner work is generally needed to make a fundamental realignment. The focus of this time is on breaking free from an old habit or routine, cleaning up anything that is out of balance, and finding personal renewal in the process. Moving forward involves leaving something of the past behind so you can step more fully into your power. There is a strong connection with ancestral spirits and guardian angels during this period. Don’t hesitate to ask for help!

The “13” energy is about getting into action to do something practical. It is the urge to use your energy, talent and experience to build something, to procreate, to bring forth something into the world. What this looks like will depend entirely upon you, but the point is that this period is a great time to move a project forward. The formula for success is: well-defined goals combined with readiness, action, persistence, and an expectation of success brings accomplishment and produces prosperity. Try it out. Be bold and do whatever you do with self-assurance. The nice thing is that “13” is the energy of success and wealth. Whatever you do at this time make bring you added abundance!

This is a fortuitous time to find middle ground that leads to joint solutions and social harmony. This time favors facilitators, catalysts for change, networking, volunteers, and grassroots efforts.

“13” is the power of caring and compassion for others that moves in a disciplined or practical way to serve the community. It is about giving something of your energy, time and talent back to the people in return for the blessings you have received. Doing so at this time, puts you in harmony with the energy of this period and satisfies a deep need to connect. It also helps to keep the fabric of society healthy, and brings many personal rewards – for it is in giving that we truly receive.

Downside: Feeling aimless like you don’t have a clue about what direction to take, or feeling that your efforts are meaningless and likely to fail – these are both signs of being caught in the shadow energy of this “13” month. This darker side can create disorder, blind spots, and mistakes (at least perceived ones). You can feel miserable, moody, pessimistic and not at all sociable. In fact, you can withdraw and feel quite insular. Add in a touch of scarcity – or the fear of it – that often happens during this period to spice up your life, and you’ve got the recipe for codependency, evasive behaviors, selfishness and even xenophobia – all of which are “13” shadow energies.

There is always a more active side, as well. These active shadow qualities include being over-dramatic, individualistic and willful, negative and ill-mannered. The negative side of the “13” period can also produce antagonistic, disobedient, confrontational, unjust or even treacherous behaviors. It is the energy of hatefulness, wrongdoing, human greed and fanaticism. Charlatans and corrupt people can cross your path. As a counterbalance, this is a good time to file lawsuits to seek justice!

Collectively, this is a time of sudden awakening that supports human morality, civil courage and the overthrow of tyrants and unjust systems. Yet, this never happens easily. As a result, the “13” period can be a time when social dilemmas take center stage. This can cause cultural upheaval, meltdowns and even revolutions. It will be interesting to see what happens in Syria this month, and in other hotspots in the Middle East and Africa.

All of the shadow aspects for the “13” have a common root: something is winding down and ending. The sun is setting on an old habit, routine, mindset, worldview or system. The sun is rising on something new. It is a new energy that is calling out for a shift or realignment or (re)awakening. The path back to the positive side is to stop holding on to the past so tightly and learn to let go more lightly. Wake up to the new possibilities and potentials.

One of the secrets to accelerating this inner shift is to gain some perspective by getting outside of yourself and your own problems or issues. Giving of your personal time, talent and effort to help your community in some way restores balance and can return you to the positive side of the “13” cycle or period.

Mayan Connection: “13” is called “Aqabal” (Aq’ab’al), the dawn and the dusk. It is the time just before the sun has risen when the sky is red with the first rays of the sun – the aurora. It is also dusk and sunset, the last rays of the sun. It represents light and dark, two sides of the same coin, two opposing yet harmonious energies. It is the energy of polarity: beginnings and endings, starting new things and letting go of others, breaking through old barriers and limitations and cleaning up what’s out of balance, taking a break from the routine.

More generally, Aqabal represents the ongoing process of personal rejuvenation and renewal. It also signifies sons and daughters, and the life of children and their development. It also represents plants in their growing phase.

18 Universal Month

The “Universal Month” shows us another aspect of the energy for the month. It is calculated by adding the “13” month to the reduced year for 2012:

13 + 2+0+1+2 = 13 + 5 = 18.

The “18” energy is very complementary with the “13” month. The energies are mutually reinforcing. Where the “13” month is about endings and beginnings, and building something tangible, the “18” is about new beginnings and planting seeds of hope for the future. The combination is a fitting harbinger of the new age that begins December 21.

This “18” period can be an active time when you are prompted to get into action to make something, or chart a new path, or explore new ideas. In fact, it is a time of good beginnings. Anything that begins during this period has a positive future. It is the best time to begin any sort of love relationship or business relationship and to win back something that was presumed to be lost – such as a lost love, or lost friendship, and so on. The energy of this time brings blessings and hope. It is generally a time of greater abundance that brings the fruits of love and understanding.

“18” is recognized as the energy of creation by the Mayan people. In their culture, the energy of this period is used to select and prepare the seed for cultivation during the next planting season. In a more general sense, the “18” energy applies to cultivating anything in the early phases of development such as children, animals, new relationships or partnerships, new businesses, jobs, projects or endeavors, as well as intangible qualities like ideas and visions, love and romance, understanding, respect, and so forth. In short, this is the time to plant the seeds for anything that you desire to manifest in the future. It is a time to ask Spirit for what you truly want.

During an “18” period, your emotional and mental well-being and the emotional and mental well-being of others steps forward to demand your attention. And, since this time often brings blessings, this is generally a good thing. New possibilities open up. If you have been feeling lost, you can find your way again, or help others find their way. If your life is just fine, perhaps a new way or path reveals itself to expand your potential and broaden your horizons. You might find a new and better way to do something, or develop a new system as I did with Mystical Numerology. You can be driven forward by a heightened sense of curiosity that is matched by the persistence and resourcefulness to make things happen in the “real world.”

After November 26, when Mercury goes direct at 5:47PM EST, is actually a good time for businesses and the governing administrators and boards to make collective decisions, and move forward with new projects. This is a time of social integration on a collective level, so it is also an auspicious time for business acquisitions in which two corporate cultures need to mesh in relative harmony. Only make sure that due diligence is given to basic, block-and-tackle issues, and that the focus is on being fair and honest.

Downside: The “18” period can be a time during which you are challenged to learn something new. At the time you want to get into action, you may have to deal with niggling details. On a larger scale, you may even find that you have to stand against the crowd for something you believe. Standing your ground is a positive aspect. Just make sure that it doesn’t develop into a general attitude of stubbornness.

Guard against fear and superstition during this time. Fear can create a witch’s brew of attitudes and behaviors including mistrust, coercion, territoriality, and self-justification. Alternately, it can also lead to a brooding sadness, a bleak outlook on the world, and an unhealthy meekness that inhibits positive thoughts and actions. You can fall prey to these shadow qualities during this “18” Universal Month energy, or find that others who carry these attitudes and behaviors cross your path.

During this period, it is also prudent to be aware of others who attempt to take advantage of you and your good nature. Don’t give in to hype, especially during this holiday season, and don’t let yourself be bluffed or cajoled into doing something that doesn’t feel right.

Mayan Connection: “18” is called “Qanil” (pronounced Kah-neel).” Qanil means germ, seed, semen, life, and creation. Humans are bearers of the spiritual seed. Qanil carries all of the codes for potential life. Its energy brings the creation of the multiverse and all life in it, of which our own physical universe is a part. Qanil is also the energy of constant regeneration. In particular, Qanil is Mother Nature, and is also about cycles of agriculture; nurturing children, relationships, ideas, and so on.
